Building Use
Wesley United Methodist has been blessed with a beautiful facility, with various rooms
that are available for use by members and outside groups. The church is an ideal location for musical concerts, wedding events, showers, birthday and anniversary events, community events, meetings, and music classes. We have a sanctuary that can be used for concerts, an adjacent social hall with a large kitchen, a nursery next to the social hall, a children's education wing, smaller meeting rooms, and a music practice room.
Building Use
If you would like to use the facility or one of the rooms and need more information, please download our Building Use Policy & Room Use Application (pdf). This document explains building usage, general policy, usage fees, and includes a form to fill out and submit to our church office. This form is for non-members of Wesley Church. A form for members can be obtained from the church office. If you are planning a wedding at the church, please consult our Wedding Policy (pdf). About Our Building
All rooms (except the office spaces) are available for use by members or outside groups. The barrier-free facility allows all persons, regardless of mobility issues, to participate in all functions. The 100 parking spaces, covered drop off area near the door, and convenient handicapped parking make it easy to attend events at the church. The building is built on one level, with all areas meeting the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and was the 2007 winner of the Paul Winske Access Award from the Stavros Center for Independent Living.
The building was designed by architect Kevin Chrobak and his associates at Juster Pope Frazier, LLP, of Shelburne Falls, MA. The building was constructed by Dole Brothers Construction of Shelburne, MA.
The building is outfitted with a security system, wi-fi, and several energy saving features, including a zoned heating system, so that spaces being used may be heated separately from the rest of the building. The building's air-conditioning units are also energy efficient and similarly divided into zones.
Colorful & Bright
The 15,000-square foot, state-of-the-art, fully accessible building contains a beautiful sanctuary, a large great hall with a kitchen, various meeting rooms, classrooms, a nursery, a music practice room and office spaces. The interior of the building is decorated throughout in warm yellow and deep orange colors with detailed oak doors and trim. Large windows, including the clerestory windows in the Sanctuary and Great Hall, bathe the interior in natural light.
Sanctuary
The Sanctuary was designed to offer the flexibility needed to accommodate a variety of music and art offerings. It can be combined with the Great Hall for larger groups. The sanctuary has a sound system, individually controllable lights, and an audio/video booth to allow technicians to control sound and filming for music, worship and drama. The chancel has a 10 foot by 10 foot screen that can be raised or hidden. The sanctuary holds up to 275 seats. The choir area is to the right and can seat up to 30 members. The organ is to the left. The altar is on wheels and can be removed or placed as needed. The chancel area sits in front of the glass cross-shaped window surrounded by huge wooden circle. The sanctuary was designed with worship, performance arts, and beauty in mind. The beautiful colors, hardwood trim and natural lighting combine to give the sanctuary a calm, relaxing glow.
Great Hall
The Great Hall holds up to 160 people and can serve as an overflow seating area for the sanctuary, with speakers connected to the sound system. A commercial-grade kitchen with a service window opens into the Great Hall.
Meeting Rooms
Meeting rooms can seat 15 to 25 people. We have 3-4 separate meeting rooms.
